Today China has realised, BAIC/Geely of China's will not be self sufficient unless technology/competencies/processes etc are not geared up to meet global quality expectations at right cost. so running behind Volvo or Saab for technology. I think the "mania" of figuring out a way to fund sustenance coz no body else is betting on it is also taking a toll on the 'feature engineering'. This forces us to take the wagers off the table and focus on the sustenance rather than break out features. A feature takes 6 months to iterate whereas a project to fund sustenance may be just 6 weeks away! Cheers! Good read.

Indian companies really need to focus on R&D, Value Engineering and come up with worldclass innovation rather than just doing the back-end stuff for companies. Though the scenario is changing, the Disruptive thoughts and ideas are missing. But what do you think that the role of governments and organizations should be to promote such little steps or ideas? How will small start-ups/individuals with big ideas should do to nuture and make it a reality?
